Understanding the religion of terrorists

The April 2013 bombings at the Boston Marathon, and the subsequent identification of ethnic Chechen immigrants of the Islamic faith as the perpetrators, once again raised questions about the relationship between religion and violence. To help religion reporters understand the role faith plays in the lives of these and other terrorists, Religion Newswriters Association, a nonprofit organization that promotes and provides resources for reporters of religion news, prepared  a page of resources that link to recent stories about the Marathon bombers and a range of articles exploring the religious forces at work in our post-9/11 world.
