Sermon Ideas to Welcome People with Disabilities

Disability Awareness Sunday is an opportunity to show that differences do not mean people ought to be excluded, dismissed or demonized, for God is also God of different abilities, and the church belongs to all of God’s people, according to Luke A. Powery, lectionary team commentator for the African American Lectionary. Powery has prepared a sermon outline and suggested reading list to stimulate worship and preaching that affirms different abilities in God’s earthly kingdom from an African American perspective, available on the African American Lectionary website.
