Religion News Surveys on Hot Button Topics, 2010

The 2010 Religion News Survey, conducted by Public Religion Research Institute, explored the intersection of religion and politics around several hot-button topics. The original survey instruments and codebook are available on the website of the Association of Religion Data Archives, an archive of significant research databases from religion scholars and research centers worldwide. Topics include: how America’s places of worship are handling the issue of homosexuality; the lack of civil discourse in the 2010 election; which holidays are celebrated in December and what type of activities are engaged in; attitudes about the proposed construction of an Islamic community center and mosque in lower Manhattan near ground zero; and attitudes about Fox News television host Glenn Beck’s call for a religious revival in the United States.
