Debating Religious Liberty

Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly, a cutting-edge religion news and analysis program, interviewed a range of authorities about the Catholic “Fortnight for Freedom,” a campaign of the U.S. Catholic bishops to “teach and witness for religious liberty.” The program was developed in response to the controversy generated by the Obama administration’s effort to mandate contraception coverage in its national health insurance bill, which runs at odds with the Catholic Church’s long-standing opposition to birth control practices. Watch excerpts from the interviews in a 10-minute video housed on the program’s website.
