The Power of Story

There are lots of stories of hope and renewal taking place in Indianapolis’ east side. C. Christopher Smith tells the hopeful story of his church, Englewood Christian Church, in his book, The Virtue of Dialogue. Smith says talking with your church community is a key part of creating new conversations that help shape important decisions concerning the church and its neighborhood. The Center for Congregations, in recommending the book, said conversation and dialogue have an enduring and effective role in shaping and impacting community. The Center strengthens Indiana congregations by helping them find and use the best resources to address their challenges and opportunities. The Center shares its learning with a national audience.
