Historic U.S. Church Membership Surveys by State

This resource contains two related groups of data sets on U.S. Christian life and church membership. The first contains Christian church and church membership statistics, by state, at uneven intervals from 1952 to 2000. The second are U.S. Census Bureau statistical data sets showing the number of individuals in various denominations by geography, organized by state, between 1890 and 1936. View them and other data sets on the website of the Association of Religion Data Archives
