Supreme Court Rules on Gay Wedding Cake Message

Supreme Court Rules on Gay Wedding Cake Message

The Court took this action in a narrowly defined decision that was based on the egregious religious bigotry that the Colorado Civil Rights Commission demonstrated in the way it conducted its hearings on this matter. The Supreme Court decision limits itself to the narrow question of unequal protection under the law and whether or not religious belief is protected by the First Amendment from overt government hostility in this specific case. It stops far short of affirming the right of individual Americans to refuse services based on their religious beliefs.

25 Favorite Hymns of Progressive Christians from Chuck McKnight and Patheos

"I recently asked, “What Hymns Still Work for You as a Progressive Christian?” And the response was amazing! Y’all came out of the woodwork to let me know what hymns you love. (And on the whole, it seems we progressive Christians do still love our hymns!) Since I received so much feedback (roughly 750 nominations that I counted), I figured I should tally them up and share the most popular examples, with a bit of brief commentary on each." Introverts, Extroverts and Church Attendance

Introverts, Extroverts and Church Attendance

"Contrary to popular belief, an introvert is not necessarily shy (though some are). The introvert/extrovert dynamic has less to do with the ability to engage, and more to do with how we are wired, and where we most draw our energy. Extroverts are energized by conversation and external stimulation. Introverts, though they might enjoy a lively conversation at times, are often drained by external stimuli. They draw their strength and energy from a more internal place, and after a few hours at a party or too much people-ing, they need to stare at the wall for a few hours to recover."
