Church Women and Civic Involvement

There is a significant correlation between religious involvement and civic engagement. This set of regression analysis tables demonstrates a modest congregational effect on individual civic engagement. Membership in a mainline Protestant congregation, and the “contagion effect” were higher predictors of involvement by women worshippers, based on data from the 2001 U.S. Congregational Life Survey.
